VINAMARINE’S MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

(by the Government's Decision No. 1155/QD-BGTVT dated 03 April 2015)

 VINAMARINE is one of administrations under the management of Ministry of Transport of Viet Nam. Its main functions and duties are as follows:

1. To work out maritime development strategies, development masterplans, shipping policies and regulations, rules of management and legal norms

2. To manage and execute maritime infrastructure projects

3. To propose for signing maritime agreements, memorandum of understandings

4. To propose for ratifying international maritime conventions

5. To issue permission to foreign ships to territorial waters of Viet Nam

6. To declare seaports opening for navigation

7. To control over maritime services

8. To carry out search and rescue operations at sea

9. To implement port state control procedures

10. To supervise maritime safety and security and environment protection issues

11. To investigate and settle violations on maritime activities.
